Asbestos Testing Laboratory

Asbestos Testing:

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber. Due to its strength and fire retardant properties, it has been used in a multitude of manufactured products over the years. Health can be affected by exposure to asbestos most commonly by breathing particles and fibers which are released into the air. Exposure over time can lead to major health consequences such as lung cancer and mesothelioma.

We offer asbestos analysis for bulk building materials such as floor tiles, pipe/boiler insulation, acoustical ceiling tiles, sprayed-on plasters and coatings, caulk/construction adhesives, vermiculite and more. Our lab uses PLM (polarized light microscopy), which is the standard method for analysis of these types of samples for asbestos content. For this type of testing, we maintain accreditation from the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP, Lab Code 101440-0).

Our lab also analyzes clearance air samples for final air testing following abatement activities.

Also ask us about our bulk and air sampling services which are available in the RI, MA and CT tri-state area.
