TOY SAFETY TESTING
The CPSC has mandated a set of regulations for all toys for children under 12 years of age. TTL Laboratories' facilities are equipped to test all children's products for lead and phthalate content as well as other substances:
CPSC Children's Products Guidelines
• Children's Toys- Rated to 14+ years • Board Games, & Puzzles • Stuffed Animals • Educational Items & School Supplies • Novelty Items • Hobby & Craft Materials • Yo-Yo's • Stickers
Amazon requires proof of testing by a CPSC-approved ISO 17025-accredited laboratory, to be able to sell items deemed to be “children’s products” on their site. TTL Laboratories regularly assists companies to maintain their listings on Amazon, by providing the necessary testing and reports to support their Children’s Product Certificates (CPC). Please contact us to discuss which testing programs may be required for your products.
TTL Laboratories is a 3rd party A2LA accredited & CPSC accepted laboratory. Our experts will help walk you through the regulations to ensure that your toy is safe and ready to enter the marketplace.
TTL Laboratories offers a full scale in-house chemistry lab to analyze your product for lead, cadmium, phthalates and heavy metals to the relevant industry regulations including the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), ASTM F963-17 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety regulation, ASTM F2923-11 Children's Jewelry Standard, and California Proposition 65.
Aside from chemistry we also offer physical & mechanical testing to the ASTM F963-17 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety & ASTM F2923-11 Children's Jewelry regulations. This specification covers restrictions on small objects (choking hazards), sharp points, sharp edges and projections, among others. We will also help to make sure your product has all of the required labeling and warnings. Additionally, TTL Laboratories can assess your stuffed toy to the tolerances of the Pennsylvania Stuffed Toy regulations.
Federal requirements state every children's product must be tested by a third party, CPSC-accepted laboratory. Third party testing is a building block for companies, enabling them to support their CPC (Children's Product Certificate) which certifies that their product is compliant with the applicable regulations.
